For the last year, John Guszkowski, CME’s Director of Planning and Development has been serving as Government Relations Co-Chair for the Connecticut Chapter of the American Planning Association (CCAPA).
In that role, he is involved with crafting and reviewing proposed legislation in Hartford. Some of these issues include: Planning, Zoning, Transportation, and Community Development. John was recently appointed to a Legislative Task Force on the Zoning of Temporary Health Care Structures. This initiative is supported by Senator Cathy Osten of Sprague. This Task Force will be making recommendations for both municipal and state policy about the regulation of these structures, also known as “echo units” or “granny pods”. The objective is to address the changing demographic and health care needs of our residents.
