IMPROVEMENTS TO GREENEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Norwich, CT :: CME Architecture and CME Associates worked together to complete interior and exterior improvements to this historic 1896 brick fire station which serves the Greeneville section of Norwich.
Interior improvements included the design of new second floor kitchen and bath facilities, a new fire alarm signaling system and a code compliant egress stair. New energy efficient, historically correct windows and doors were installed. Particular attention was given to coordination with the Historic District Commission and all design elements were thoroughly reviewed and meticulously designed to respect the original property now on the National Register of Historic Places.
CME also provided the design and construction inspection services for the roof replacement project. The project consisted of the replacement of a built up roof with a single ply membrane roof. CME provided the construction specifications, contract documents, and administered the project for the City during the construction. Additional exterior improvements included brick repair and re-pointing and lighting upgrades.
