CME Associates, Inc., an architectural and engineering firm with offices in East Hartford and Woodstock, Connecticut, is seeking a part time Information Technology assistant to work with the company's Information Technology Manager. The position(s) will involve providing direct support including troubleshooting desktop and network issues, software, hardware, and driver installations and issues working with a variety of staff members. The ideal candidate(s) will be professional, personable, and possess a significant level of computer aptitude or a desire to learn.
General responsibilities will include:
- Assist with IT Infrastructure.
- Assist to maintain equipment and inventory, involving hardware, software and systems.
- Diagnose network and system problems as well as react to failures and troubles to maintain system integrity and performance.
- Answer help desk calls for Desktops
- Perform nightly, weekly and monthly backups as well as restorations as needed.
- Assist in network and system security
- Escalate issues to the IT Manager as appropriate
- Develop and maintain working relationships at all levels of the business unit
- Validate that all functions perform according to the relevant specifications
- Acquire and maintain working knowledge of databases, file systems and network architecture that support the applications
- Facilitate and or assist with group meetings
- Provide required problem and status and time reporting
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
- Coursework in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends and developments in information technology
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Windows Server, Microsoft Desktop operating systems, VM Ware and common business software programs; Acrobat, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office.
- Familiar with Standard network Infrastructure and VPNs.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server a plus

General responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining corporate compliance with licensing and certification requirements
- Development and review of vendor and client contracts and proposals
- Maintenance of a complete and systematic record of ongoing contractual obligations
- Development of reporting systems and operations to streamline open book data flow to all team members
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies
The chosen candidate will work under the corporate CEO and Directors and will develop a system to assist Directors and senior project managers with monitoring of project status including budget, resource allocation and schedule. This position requires superior written and oral communication skills, a significant level of computer aptitude, the ability to work with little supervision, willingness to perform a variety of administrative duties, and impeccable organizational skills. SENIOR HIGHWAY ENGINEER
East Hartford, CT Office

CME Associates, Inc. seeks a Senior Highway Design Engineer to work in our Structures and Transportation Division at our East Hartford office. The ideal candidate will be capable of performing design, project management and business development activities. The position, at a minimum, requires a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and at least 5 years experience in highway engineering.
Responsibilities include design of highways and roadways in accordance with to ConnDOT and AASHTO standards, review and preparation of highway and urban geometric design, and knowledge of Microstation In-Roads software.
The candidate will need to effectively communicate (written & oral) and develop both technical proposals and scopes of work for task order assignments and be willing to participate in business development and marketing opportunities. This position will require an individual that is willing to perform a variety of tasks and is a team player. Candidate will be required to uphold Corporate Quality Assurance Policies/Procedures.
