Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) is a new method of building that can reduce the time for construction of bridges from years to days, and in some cases, hours. New techniques that involve large-scale prefabrication allow for construction and assembly of portions of the bridge offsite that can be moved into place when ready. This procedure reduces costs and saves valuable time without sacrificing the quality of the resulting product.

CME is a leader in the national trend of ABC. We recently wrote a manual entitled "Connection Details for Prefabricated Bridge Elements and Systems" for the Federal Highway Administration. This manual presents "state of the art" methods and techniques currently being used in ABC. CME has also assisted 8 state DOTs across the country where ABC techniques were studied for various highway projects.
