Evelyn Cole Smith, senior architect at CME, has opened her own architecture practice. The new company, Evelyn Cole Smith Architects, LLC, will provide architectural design and consultation for homeowners, local communities, and business clients. The firm will also maintain a focus on the preservation and rehabilitation of historic structures.
Ms. Smith, a National Park Service certified preservation architect, is looking forward to continuing her work to conserve and protect historic structures and landscapes throughout New England. “Having my own firm will give me more freedom to explore my passion for historic preservation. It will be an invigorating adventure and I am looking forward to it”, says Smith.
Ms. Smith has spent the past few months transitioning from her position at CME while her firm takes shape. The new firm recently received its business license from the State of Connecticut and secured office space in the Putnam, Connecticut.
